We squirrel hunt frequently throughout the year. usually after a duck hunt, we head to the bottoms and protect the pecan trees. maybe get a mid afternoon nap in.
I have on the old savage .22/410 combos that is great for squirrel. Man I love that gun.

The last squirrel I shot was nearly decapitated by a .17HMR. I miss having a good hardwood bottom to squirrel hunt in.

I know a guy with a pecan grove near Ardmore, I may have to give him a call and see if I can come down and spend a day "deer hunting" with a .17 HMR instead of a deer rifle.
