So in a month or two I will be looking to buy a couple more "toys" as my .22 can was just approved on the 23rd. And we all know that its down hill from the first class 3. Anyway I am going to want a .308 can and a good 5.56 can.

The 5.56mm can will be used on a pistol/SBR AR with a 12.5'' barrel and maybe a 16.5'' AR and bolt gun. As it sits now, its a loud gun and I want the least BANG for the most affordable $$$$.

The .308cal can will be used primarily on a Savage 10FP-LE2 26'' barrel. And I want it quiet.

Don't really want to spend more than $800 each on the cans before the stamps. So what are you guys using or recommending?

Short BBl rifles are hard on suppressors so a lot of manufacturers dont guarantee their cans on them so if that concerns you you might want to find out if 12.5 is too short.

A good 308 can might do the trick on suppressing both 308 and 5.56 if you wanted to combine the money you wanted to spend on two cans and just get one.

For best value for the money you should look into the YHM Phantom in stainless and the M4-1000. Both built very well and not too pricey

I have a Surefire FA556-212 can http://www.surefire.com/FA556-212-Suppressor on a 12.5 with the Surefire MB556K http://www.surefire.com/MB556K-Muzzle-BrakeAdapter It is really loud without the can. With the can the 16in and the 12.5 in sound the same.

A Surefire might be out of your price range, but it's an excellent can. I have an M4-2000 on my 11.5" and it's a great can as well. I'll let others comment on .308 cans.

Yea I have been looking at the M4-2000. Do u still "need" ear pro with it? I know it's always good to use it but if shtf I might not have it ya know

From what people tell me, you don't "need" ear pro as the M4-2000 reduces the dB level below what is considered "safe." But you should still use it.

I can shoot mine FA w/o earpro and it's an 11.5", but I still recommend using at least the Surefire plugs. They have a 12db reduction and "ports" you can open so you can hear almost as well as using nothing.

Won't that add extra weight, length, and less noise suppression than a dedicated 5.56 can like the m4-2000?

Dude that's a really nice sounding can and it sounds great on FA. With controlled bursts after the first round pop my electronic earpro's didn't kick in
