I'd like to find a ring like that, it'd be mighty fine if someone approached me with a drawn gun wanting to do harm. They'd in for a big surprise-maybe me too.

Don't know what it takes to make it shoot, but I wonder if a handshake would do it. Disable an unexpecting opponent?

That was my first thought. It calls itself the Protector, but it looks to me to be a first strike weapon. Really, an assassination firearm. A .22 short at very close range could be a fatal blow. But, at typical fighting distances the little gun would be little more than a noise maker.
