I am getting ready to mount a scope on my marlin 1895. I have blue thread locker butit was opened about a year ago. Does this stuff go bad over time once opened?
Loctite has a published shelf life of one year from date of purchase (and assumed first opening)
I've used some that is over two years old, and it was still good. As long as its sealed it should remain good.
I don't know if this a valid test, but you might put a drop on something smear it thin and make sure it hardens up.

Not sure thats a valid test. Thread locker is anerobic, meaning a lack of oxygen is what cures it, it doesn't air dry .
Well I put some on a 1/4" bolt and snugged it up fairly tight. See what happens when take it apart. Wish o had a torque wrench be a bit more scientific than feeling it.
After 6 hours I took the double nutted 1/4" nuts apart one had thread locker the other did not. When I cracked them loose the one without came loose Anne the one with stayed put. It was also tougher to get moving on the bolts threads. So I guess it is good and went ahead and used it on my rifle.
I think they put that 1 yr shelf life on it to make you buy more.
I think this is the case. I used a bottle for 25 years and had good luck with it. Firearms and motorcycles.

If it flows it is good. Same rule as super glue.
I keep mine in the fridge out in the garage. Helps it keep from drying out.
