I'm needing the timing belt and possibly water pump replaced.. the 3 local dealers seem to be quoting from the same book ($1000-1100) for the job.. Driving to Quality Toyota in Independence KS get the job done for $~600.. But the logistics of taking it up there kind of suck.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an independent shop in the Tulsa area?

I don't have a recommendation other than to not take it to a shop that works on everything. Stick with a shop that specializes in Toyotas. There is Japanese auto repair in okc. He is high but more knowledgeable and cheaper than the dealership. I did a valve adjustment on my tacoma and he is the only one out of every dealership in okc that even knew what needed to be done even though it's spelled out in the factory service manual. All the dealership idiots argued with me telling me either there was nothing to adjust or quoted me 2400 or some insane price.
