Iowa has a strong Christian conservative component.
I'm guessing that Huckabee, Cruz, and possibly Santorum are spreading that vote out among them making it have less impact.

Trump takes lead in Iowa polls, post debate. Unbelievable. I thought he was eviscerated in the debate.

Edit: I did not even think RNC would allow him in the debates - that they would find some way to disqualify him. What CNN just said on TV is that his numbers among the potential women voters in Iowa were just fine.

Republican presidential contender Donald Trump is backed by 17% of likely Iowa GOP caucus voters, according to Suffolk University Poll.

I think Fox's obvious attempts at railroading him failed them. Now, he's gained the sympathy of fence-sitters and the fury of his staunch support group. Fox and Megyn's FB pages have been blowing up with negative comments.

As stated, FOX's botched hatchet job made him more relatable than he'd have otherwise been.

I'd heard that three of the candidates threatened to boycott the debate if they allowed Trump in. Obviously that didn't work and their need to be up there overrode their desire for him to not be up there.

I'm just ROTFLMAO at everything the GOP, FOX and the other candidates have done to derail him, and he's outmaneuvered them all at every turn. Love him or hate him, you have to give him props for that!

And one has to wonder if he intentionally stirred up the 14th Amendment deal to take out some of his opponents. I doubt it but it sure would be "convenient" now wouldn't it? Is he that sly?

His lead in the polls just keeps growing. And he dominated Jorge Ramos this evening.

The Donald Trump juggernaut is rolling through the pivotal early voting states of New Hampshire and South Carolina - and leveling everything in its path.

Two new polls out Tuesday show the rampaging Republican crushing the opposition in the GOP presidential primary field - and Trump greeted the news with characteristic humility.

"Congrats @LindseyGrahamSC. You just got 4 points in your home state of SC-far better than zero nationally. You're only 26 pts behind me," the real-estate kingpin jeered on Twitter as a Monmouth University survey showed "3 in 10 voters who are likely to participate in South Carolina's GOP primary are backing Trump."

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson was Trump's closest competitor at 15% support, with ex-Florida Gov. Jeb Bush trailing at 9% and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio at 6%.

I saw another interview with Ramos today. He doesn't have a leg to stand on. He advocates any illegal coming across the border becoming an instant citizen.

When asked about the wall trump started and now others advocate, his comments were that we couldn't get enough Americans to build it because they wouldn't work for the wages required to build it.

Donald Trump’s campaign brings about some interesting comparisons.

Trump is running his campaign much like how Schwarzenegger and Obama did on “hope and change”. He is seizing on and communicating the anger and fear that seven long years of Obama’s chronically failed policies and abject madness have graciously given us.

Bottom line is that Trump is intriguing to people. He is charismatic and is capturing the emotion that people want to believe in. When one thinks about it (and Godwin be damned) Trump’s campaign is similar in form to what a charismatic leader did in Germany back in 1933.

While it is too early to tell how the primary will shake out, Trump is hitting the right notes. My prediction is that an autocratic CEO cannot make the transition to a diplomatic president. Like placing a Harvard MBA in as a manager of a McDonalds. He will lose his mind. The other factor with Trump is that if you give him an open mic ... soon enough he will step on his dick.
