You beat me to it! The dog paid the price for having a dumbass for an owner.
^^^^This. If he'd tended to his own knitting instead of inserting himself into a situation in which he had no call to be involved, none of this would have happened. He got what he deserved, but that dog deserved a hell of a lot better.

You don't need high capacity magazines either, but isn't it your right?

If you have an agressive dog, you need to keep it in a cage or kill it.

Dogs become agressive because their owners want them to be that way.

I've trained lots of hunting dogs. They know to hunt the game they have been trained for. If its a bird dog, they hunt birds. If its a trail hound, they hunt running game.

I've seen boston bull dogs retrieve ducks, and poodles do the same in demo's?

Training is the answer.

That's a ridiculous assessment of this situation. Most dogs will protect their master, it's their natural instinct, it's kind of what makes a dog man's best friend. My 30 pound mutt is a docile little thing until my wife squeals.

The cops were the aggressors, if the cops had any sense they would have handled the situation differently. Instead, their first instints were to exert there authority.

Should the guy have been in the situation? Logic says no, but we don't live in an area where the cops are known for beating citizens senseless for no apparent reason. Either way, that does not negate his rights to be there filming the cops or listen to loud music.

I'd be curious how many OSA'ers carry pepper spray and tasers in case of an unknown aggressive dog goes on the attack...

I carry neither. If I gotta go to the trouble to pull out a weapon I'm not screwing around with something that may or may not work. (Oh ... and it's not for aggressive dog attacks that I carry any weapons on me ... ) People are idiots. Animals pay the price for it all the friggin' time. I'm with RickN -- the world would have been a so much better place if the JBTs had just shot the owner and rescued the dog.
