I did not see anything in the article that said the proposed law would place any restrictions on gun owners. I read it as a law that would require those who manufacture gun safes and gun locks to meet certain standards.
Even if I read the proposal correctly do we need such a law? If a product is defective don't we already have criminal and civil laws on the books that address that issue?

It was unclear to me whether the proposed law will apply to all safe sales in the state, or just the ones sold to law enforcement agencies.
