Liking those duck numbers. They keep on climbing. Didn't have a stellar weekend last weekend, but didn't get blanked either. Definitely more ducks around my neck of the woods than before the split.

Monday I went out and got a few target birds I have been wanting to get mounted! Got a beautiful bufflehead that I somehow managed to not tear up with 3" #2. Likely because I waited to shoot until he was at 40 yards.

Up until last year, I had only seen canvasback maybe 3 times. I shot one last year but his plumage wasn't peak. A group of 4 came in and my shooting was above average, doubling on drakes! I was shocked. Both are in great condition although one suffered a minor broken wing. Now the debate as to mount options, begins. On the plus side, my wife told me on Sunday "you need to do something with these ducks in the freezer." That was before I put 3 more in there [emoji1787]

Went back out yesterday and hardly even saw birds.

Those are nice cans, Make. One of those and that buffie will make nice mounts for sure. I've never even had a chance to shoot a canvasback. My spot is mainly mallards and green wings right now.

Awesome! I am getting back into the duck game. I am about to order some waders, decoys and a call.

Thanks, guys! I'm hoping birds push in again soon. The warm up is going to be interesting for a while. At least my leaky waders won't be so bad for a bit.
