What kind of snake is this? (In garage)

I know the picture is poor but the snake is wedged between a garage wall and the above-ground tornado shelter and they were the best I could take...

I have snake shot ready but if it is only a non-venomous vermin eater then I will just (hopefully) chase it out. If it is venomous - it gets the snake shot once clear of my walls and garage.

I think its one of those yellow bellied water snakes. They look just like copperheads except for they dont have the triangle shaped copper head. If you have a pond close by, that may be what it is. We used to get them around the house quite a bit when we had a pond in the back yard. Have to pull it out and look at the head to be certain.
