I've seen 9mm in the AR platform. No reason a .40 wouldn't work there as well.

I've seen build threads on arfcom and M4carbine.net forums for .40SW ARs.

I would love to have a SBR'd 10mm! :faint:

I'm pretty sure it would need to be gas operated with some lockup. But .40 will work straight blowback with some fiddling.

I rock the gen 2 sub 2000 in a 40. takes glock mags so its a nice compliment to my G22. I had a gen one in 9. I think I prefer the gen one. The sights require a little work on the gen 2 since they are screwed on and are supose to hold 0 with a set screw. The 40 has knocked my set screw loose twice with recoil causing my front site to drift bad. locktyte or optics are strongly recomended.

No personal experience in .40 cal but my Hi-Point 45acp rifle shot well and cycled without a hiccup.

Now You did not say 40S&W
So could i assume you mean 40 cal.
So maybe a 38-40 rifle.
No that is not 38 cal.. It actually uses a .401" bullet.
What is the goal of your quest?

This is a 38-40 that looks like fun to own.
No longer available but nice eye candy.
