What size scope rings do I need?

I'm installing a Bushnell Elite 3200 Tatical that has a 40mm objective on my Grendel upper. I know that low scope rings won't allow the objective to clear my handguards but I don't know if medium or high rings would be better. I have a Magpul PRS stock, so it has the adjustable check weld, so I think I could use either one. What are the pros and cons of medium vs high. What do you guys suggest?

Go with the lowest rings you can- you eat up less elevation adjusting for off-set above the bore.

Sounds like medium is what I should go with. That's originally what I was thinking but a guy I work with kept telling me I need to go with large. However, he didn't really have a reason why.

Always go with the lowest that will provide clearance. I always have extra rings laying around to play with till I get a good combo.
