Red cedar removal has been going on for quiet awhile out here in NW Oklahoma. Different groups have made it available to many landowners along the South Canadian River bottom. Sometimes free of charge, sometimes a cost share, sometimes other stipulations.They just ran a piece on KWTV about a free red cedar removal service for Oklahoma County.

ETA: They just now said on KWTV that the red cedar removal program is available to all 77 counties but so far Oklahoma county is the only one to opt in to the program.

I don't know why Cleveland county isn't all over this.
Eastern CC is ate up with them and that's why that big fire jumped HWY 9 in 2012 and just about wiped a bunch of people out.
