OP do you mean wildcat calibers? I have always heard that, never wild card. Maybe you are talking about something different, I don't know. I'm not an expert, I'm just trying to figure out - are these oddball offshoots called both? Wildcat and wildcard? Or are we talking about something different?

Never heard of a wildcard caliber. Wildcat, yes. Plenty of 'em. Wildcard, no.
