I also support OC, but I carry concealed. I just wish the people who OC would do it in something more professional. Seems it's always a POS pistol in a $5 nylon rig.

If I ever do OC it will certainly be in a Yosemite Sam dual drop leg rig with Colt single actions. ;)

Hahaha. I always carry my Glock or 1911s in a retention holster.

What has been interesting to me is that here in Colorado, open carry is legal without a permit just about everywhere but Denver County and the city of Denver. In the time we've been up here since July of 2014, I've maybe seen a total of 5 individuals carrying openly. (Concealed carry here does require a permit.)

We are fixing to move to Oregon for at least a year, maybe longer, and when I was warned about being around the hipsters, I checked Oregon out as well. It appears that they also allow open carry without a permit.

While I had a permit when living in Oklahoma, I didn't apply for one here in Colorado. Oregon has a cheaper permit, so I might apply for one there. I would also prefer to carry concealed, for the same reason as a couple of others stated. If anyone is going to be surprised, I want it to be the bad guy.

Yeah, lots of the "liberal" states had/have use beat on basic gun rights.

Agreed on all counts. It should be legal without a permit, but I, and most people, would never do it. That's why you rarely see it and why it's not a big deal. I open carry in the woods. Never around people.

I've only seen a couple people open carrying in OK since this came down. Both were the $5 nylon rig crowd. One was buying cheap booze at the liquor store by my house. He got a lot of looks walking into that liquor store. The other was wearing an untucked t-shirt he had pulled up over his holster. Point made, bubba. Yeah, not exactly the best ambassadors for for gun rights.

I'm fat and I open carry. It's not a big deal. I have been doing it since day one of it being legal, and thus far, I've had two people give me grief for it. I've actually had more people support me on the issue and say that they will safer. However, 99.9% of folks don't even notice.

I thought liquor stores were off limits for carry but now I can not find that written anywhere...

Only places where "alcohol is consumed" (how they define that, which is a bit muddy). Liquor store is OK.

Still a pretty douchey move to OC in a liquor store, tho. By that, I mean dressed like a slob with a ****** holster. I think you should look clean & professional in you are open carrying. My old lady, who was an anti-gunner when we met and has now flipped 180 (you're welcome, gun community - I've done that to several women) was not impressed by the guy.

If you're dressed nice the average non-gun person will probably assume you're a LEO or something and not even give you a second glance. If you're dressed like slob buying bottom shelf vodka...you're really not helping your fellow gun owners much.
