The firing pin on an AR is floating. If a round is chambered and extracted without being fired, it will always have a light indentation where the firing pin tapped it.

Yep I see those too, but I am talking a lite strike. You can tell the difference if you look closely.

I've got at least 3k rounds of monarch down the pipe of my AR without a single hiccup. I've gone well over 1k rounds between cleanings with no problems (other than the royal PITA to clean it of course)

What type of chamber does your rifle have? .223, 5.56, Wylde, etc.
