Bringing extra mags on vacation?

Just was thinking if I'm the only one? We are out of town this weekend. Whenever we go on vacation whether for a weekend or a week and staying at a hotel we both bring our normal ccw gear(flashlight, gun with loaded chamber and mag, knife, and 1-2 extra mags), but when going on vacation I always pack 5 or so extra loaded mags per gun in our bags to leave at the room. Something about being away from home at a hotel, just in case something happens I want to have enough ammo not only for protection but for vacating premises if necessary if some "event" occurs.

Just wondering if anyone else brings lots of extra mags? Or am I just paranoid and crazy!

I bought a couple of speed loaders for the .44 mag before heading to Alaska. Probably would never get to use them in a bear attack.
At least he might get an irritated bowel when he passes them.

I usually just throw an extra box of ammo in the luggage...

Funny you say that, that is my next big purchase. Some type of secure storage for Rifles in back if Yukon and then the next thought was yeah why not bring a rifle on vacation too.

I can pop my AR in half and fit it in the bottoms of my duffle bag.
