Bringing extra mags on vacation?

I usually take my normal carry gun, and my wife has hers. I grab a couple extra loaded mags, and almost always grab a revolver and 20 or so rounds, and my AR with the 5 outside pockets with a full mag each.

My family thinks I'm nuts.

Road trip? I usually take a long gun, as well as extra.....

I take my FN P90 in a nondescript case and 10 50 round mags. Each round has been blessed just in case I encounter multiple outlaw biker vampires as I drive through the New Mexican desert.

I take a 5 shot .38 special with NO extra ammo. In 35 years of carrying I've never fired a single shot in self defense on a vacation. I'm confident my 5 shots will more then suffice any encounters I might come across.

Will your five shots stop witches in small mountain towns? (Actually, I take a j frame or Colt Agent when I fly someplace, so kudos on your taste).
