I didn’t know if this would be better in Stupid Stuff or General Discussion – probably falls into the category of stupid stuff best, as some of the current terminology is pretty stupid.
I guess I have too much time on my hands and my age is showing being able to think of all the new words and terms that have been added to our current lexicon. I sometimes wonder if most people realize how powerful words are and how they shape people’s attitudes and the power they have to influence societal culture. Politicians, ad agencies and the news media are very aware of the power of words. And usually use them for their advantage and the masses disadvantage.
Here is a list of words and terms that have come to fruition or changed in meaning since I was growing up in small town America. I’m sure other’s here can add to the list.
Looking forward to words and terms I’ve overlooked! J
