You would be surprised at how many people take "to serve and protect" on cars seriously. Of course, most of them are armchair lawyers that know nothing of the law, just what they've seen or heard on Adam 12 or CSI.

Or, they might actually be lawyers. You'd be surprised at how many of those people don't know the law too.

Sounds like Michael Brown is a "Peace Officer". Those are kind of rare these days... most cities prefer "Law ENFORCEMENT officers" who can collect a days wages writing traffic tickets
