we have 4 coffee 'makers'
keurig, works fine, quick and easy, no problems to date. it's about 4 yrs old
cuisine art, works fine, quick and easy, sometimes it would not brew even when it said it was ready. 3 years old
french press, works every time, although I make it stronger than the wife, bc she is cheap sometimes. I'm like "one more scoop ain't gonna break us".
and the old stand by regular drip machine with a huge reservoir (no pot).
needless to say, we use the kuerig most often for quick and easy coffee during the week and the french press for the wknd. the regular drip we only pull out when 4 or more coffee drinkers are gonna be around.
to OP's point. It sounds like I will not be buying a 2.0.
