Yeah, I like the 22mag round for a trail gun. A 2 inch with adjustable sights and the right ammo could be effective.

I have a Taurus 44 mag with 6" barrel and Magna ported and it my favorite shooter.

I bought a Taurus 856 back in December. I’ve ran a a little over 200 rounds through it so far. It’s a pretty nice gun. I like it a lot.
As far as how it compares to a similar sized Smith? I have a 442. It’s a nice revolver too. But they really aren’t comparable. Different frame metals. Different triggers. Just different feeling guns.
Having said that, up to this point, the Taurus in no way takes a back seat to the Smith. Both are nice guns.

I have a couple of those. 3" 44Spl, blue, wood grips. Just a hair bigger than a K-frame, it fits the K-frame holster.
I like them very much.
