What do I need to do in order to download and watch some torrents? Do I have to get some certain program?

Torrents and downloading torrents is not illegal. Sharing and downloading copyrighted material is illegal, but just because something is downloaded as a torrent doesn't mean that it is illegal.

Yeah it's a legitimate means of content distribution but in this thread illegal activity has been pretty heavily insinuated.

I know I'm paranoid but it's pretty stupid to talk about doing anything illegal in a place that's indexed by Google. Don't borrow trouble.

there aren't many legal torrents available on sites like the pirate bay and such. uTorrent is pretty much the best client to use.

download client (uTorrent)
download torrent file. (non-copyright material.torrent)
open torrent file with uTorrent
select download location
save
depending on what you downloaded and from where it might finish right away, might be a few days depending on seeders (People uploading the file).
Open the file and enjoy


After you are done downloading, it is pretty nice to let it seed (upload) to others for a little bit.
