I was so close today in Rush Springs

So I heard through the grapevine this weekend that there was a range on the South side of lake Taylor. So I go looking for it today because it's around 2 miles from my shop where I work. I found it and was sooo happy. I found out it's the Marlow PDs range and all I needed to do was call and I'd be in like Flinn. See the closest place for me to go is the SCRAP Club in Duncan. the drive is around 25 miles one way. Not exactly a quick run to the range. So anyway I call the PD and they inform me that the range is closed and if I'm caught shooting out there it will be considered shooting within city limits. Oh well. Whats a guy to do? I need some land out here where I can practice.

That's what I am doing. i have had enough of city life. I grew up with my nearest neighbor 2 miles away. Lawton has gone to hell even more than it was. We are buying 15ac. near Arcadia and building our house there.

Yeah, I grew up in Lawton. It's pretty bad there and even worse for the kids. Not necessarily because of the crime and gangs, but also because of the lack of things to do and opportunities there.

Want to guess where the best hangout spot was for an 18 yr old boy or girl besides the "cruise," which was lame anyways and was where older military guys went to pick up underaged highschool girls? It's called The Dragon West. It's a strip club, and if you have a son or daughter aged 17-24 in town, I assure you they've been there a few times. Heck, half the girls that danced there were girls from my church. It was just the thing to do, because there was and still is nothing to do in that forsaken excuse for a city and where else can a girl make $500 a night, $2000+ on a weekend in Lawton?

It hasn't changed today, except for the increase gang presence and shootings.

Anyways, sorry for the rant hehe. I know far too many people who got caught in the black hole known as Lawton. It's called a blackhole because once you're there, it seems like it's impossible to ever get out. Those who have tried, eventually gets sucked back in. Get out and never look back.
