I have a "thing" for grammar and spelling errors ... I don't point them out when I see them though -- well, not unless it's really, really funny. Bugs the crap out of me ... You can thank all the lawyers in the world for that little "hangup". When I worked at the range I learned really quickly just to smile and say "At the gunsmith's counter" when someone asked me where the clips for their Glocks were. Some things aren't worth breaking a sweat over, ya know ...

I'll quote myself:
Clip: device that holds multiple rounds together as a unit.
Magazine: device that holds multiple rounds within the firearm.
Clips were used to load magazines.
Once magazines became detachable - clip and magazine became interchangeable.
For some reason in recent years it became "cool" to differentiate the two and ridicule those who don't.

There was a funny conversation that occured when I took my CCW class between the instructor and another taking the class.

Guy, "I only have one clip"
Instructor, "It's a magazine, a clip goes in your hair"
Guy, "Well a magazine is what you read when you're taking a ****"
Instructor was speechless.

My personal pet peeve is when people talk about the creator of (among other things) the 1911. They *always* feel compelled to use the man's middle name. Why? Are folks really afraid the audience will confuse him with someone else if only his first and last names are mentioned?
