I've had my desert tan Oakley assault boots for 3 years now and they weren't as comfortable as I remember them being when I did Tac Rifle 2 this past weekend. Lots of time on my feet Saturday they were aching Sunday morning, so I thought I would just throw on my trail running shoes. That might have been a bad mistake by mid afternoon Sunday I was really hurting bad, any way you guys with lots of experience with different boots here is my question.

Since my oakley boots exterior wise and tread wise are still serviceable should I get a new set of insoles and arch supports or is there a more comfortable /better boot on the market?

Thanks.

I wear New Balance water proof hikers at $150.00 per pair. I wear then every day from morning to night on the farm. I think they are the most comfortable foot wear that I have ever used. The pair that I am wearing now are 10 months old and have been worn almost every day and look to be good for another 5 or six months.

I have a pair of bates usmc standard issue boots. Very similar to the Oakley assault boots. I've had mine for going on 6 years and are still awesome. Get some new insoles and try that first. I get the dr scholls work boot insoles and they work really well for me. The $10 bucks could go a long way.

I had a pair of ua breech boots that I loved. After six months or so the rubber on the toe protector started working loose which caused the goretex to leak. Sent them back and of course they are discontinued now. So I used my credit to try their ridge reaper boot. Haven't gotten them yet but I hope they are as comfortable as the other ones where. I'd try the insoles and see if that helps. Or see if you can get Oakley insoles direct. I replace the footbeds in my danner's every 8-10 months. It's been my experiance that insoles make most of my boots not fit as well and therefore less comfy. Good luck.
