Just need a camera, tripod, and remote release. Will try to remember mine.

My buddies wife will be there as a cheerleader and will have her camera as well as a tri-pod. I've been considering running a go-pro on a helmet or on my rifle for the event.

I will most likely be running my go pro as well. We will have a great time for sure. I'm sure all the pics will show us.

Finally got out to the range this weekend, let's just say, y'all have nothing to worry about, lol.

I ran 1.5 miles yesterday and just about died, so I have a lot of work to do over the next 2 and a half weeks. I am down about 20 pounds since I started though, hope to shed another 10 in time.

I have a question though. When you clear the rifle at the end of each stage, what's the procedure? Pull mag and shoot the chambered round down range, or eject and fumble around with a live round?

Anyone going with a single point sling?

Mag out, bolt back, safety on. If you have a loaded round, put it in your pocket. It'll probably be faster, 'cause you want every hit to count, and you don't want to fire your last round, miss, and have to load another.

Congratulations on the weight loss, sounds like you're already more "prepared" than you were. Drink water!!!!

will the shooter have to do the bold between the shooting areas on the last stage?

Same question for the VTAC stage when you transition to the tree.

According the rules on the run 'n gun website...you do NOT have to carry the rifle with the bolt locked to the rear after showing clear to the RSO.

A standard method of "clearing" is; Place the weapon on safe (if possible), remove the source of ammunition, lock the bolt to the rear and inspect the chamber and magazine well....after showing clear you should be able to send your bolt forward and get back to runnin'.

Congrats on the weight n8! I've been upping my mileage...doing the best I can working 10-12 hours a day six days a week lately.

I'm not sweating the shooting stages, hit or miss I will learn something. This whole thing is a learning, conditioning and eye opening adventure for me.

Correct, SMS. Runner must show open bolt, no mag or ammo, and safety on when approaching shooting station, and again before leaving station. You can run with bolt closed, but no mag or ammo in rifle. Loaded, holstered pistols are OK.

Thank you sir. What about UMB's question concerning the final stage, do we have to clear before each rush forward?

No, sir. You'll start on your target, make hits, proceed to the next point, make hits, and so on, until you finish the stage. You'll be followed by a tired and hot Range Officer. When you're done, you'll clear rifle, and proceed with the course.
