He turned GC on to these dried, fried okra pods that he found at Crest ... :hypnotize:

O.M.G. The things are to die for!!

I'm trying to figure out how they are made. They are obviously not just fried. Anybody know? I'm thinking maybe they are dehydrated a little and then tossed in the deep fryer. Whatever they do to them, they are seriously addictive ... :drooling:

OK OK OK ... I "kinda" like them too! :D

Which Crest?? I live..I think I do...North West a few blocks of a Crest in West Edmond area.
Do you buy them at the deli counter?

Are they good with gizzards?

Are they good with beer?

Are they good with chili?

If you answer no twice..not interested.

Just kidding...what location?

We got ours at the Crest at NW 23rd and Meridian, over by the produce. At the "healthy" foods self-serve kiosk thingee ...

Yes, yes, yes ... although I haven't tried them with any of those things yet. There are some things a girl just "knows"! :D

My wife bought some at Sprouts....price is higher than a cat's back, but they are good. Why? Cause they are made in OKRAhoma!!!!

Yep. $12.00/pound!! YIKES!!

Their only saving grace is that, unlike potato chips, they are quite filling. Only takes a handful to satisfy ya. Are they made in Oklahoma?!?!? Hmmmm ... See there, that's more than I knew before I started this thread ... Thanks!

My wife likes to batter and fry the small okra pods whole. The ones about two to three inches long. I am sure that is not what the thread is about but they are good that way and it is easier to dip them in ranch dressing if they are whole.
