I don't know why, but when I see a firearm (almost regardless of what it is), I look at the serial number to see if it is significant to me (A birthday or Anniversary, etc)

It's bad enough that I saw a Noveske lower once (that I didn't need/want) and bought it because it was Serialed: C 1890, which to me looked like Circa 1890 (the Founding of OU)

I had a Seecamp .380 special ordered with my initials and birth year (Mainly to pass down to my Son)

Anyone else have a weird fascination with SNs?

Some numbers are just cool. They don't enhance the monetary value, but make for an interesting conversation piece. This is my separately purchased "matched set". Jarheads will recognize the number as the MOS for a Marine Infantry Rifleman.

I look at the S/N's on M1 Garands in the forlorn hope that I'll find a really cool one, such as the last digit repeated at least three times. I saw one once that ran something like 3XX4444, but the owner had the same idea and wasn't selling it.
