Religions exist simply because man is afraid of dying. It makes us feel better if we believe in some form of afterlife. We just can't accept the idea of when it's over, it's over.

I go to church and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
I also don't put down others for their religious beliefs. I'm a hypocrite and mess up like everyone else.

I've always considered myself a Christian until recently. Now, I consider myself a Christian agnostic. I'd like to think there is a loving, great God. Although, I have not seen God and have no factual knowledge of God's exsistence. Was God made up as man's attempt to control society? It's impossible for me to know. If there is a God, would God want me to blindly believe mans interpretation of him? I don't think so. For me, I'll wait until I meet God and make my decision then.

It's easier to appreciate life and the universe when you can accept this is it.. and the possibility that we humans or the other species of bipedal prime ape-like creatures we evolved from or over are not the center of the universe and everything isn't all about us.

I've come to the same conclusion recently. Well stated!
