OKLAHOMA CITY Thousands of Oklahomans head to a popular event each year but officials say a man attending ended up in handcuffs.
Authorities say 49-year-old Richard Britt, a convicted felon, was arrested at the Gun and Knife Show this past weekend.
Police were called to the show after someone reported that Britt was not supposed to be in possession of any firearms.
When he was confronted by officers, authorities told him that he could not have a firearm after his felony conviction.
According to the report, he said, Yeah, I was only imprisoned for nine and half months and it was so long that I thought they had pardoned it.
Officials say he was a vendor at the show and had over 33,000 rounds of ammunition and more than 15 guns.
Police say two of the weapons were fully automatic and at least one was reported as stolen.
Britt was charged with possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.
