They're not talking about the guys in the picture, just someone in a hypothetical situation.

Is indefensible. I don't care if you're pro-open carry, pro-open carry of long guns or whatever, that is inappropriate in the extreme. If it walks like a douche, poses like a douche and is generally acting like a douche while failing to represent anyone in any acceptable manner whatsoever, it's a douche.

Is someone in this thread actually attempting to defend douchebaggeris extremis???

Certainly true. If I saw a couple guys carrying like that I would at the very least keep a close eye on them, and would probably leave quickly in any case.

My comment wasn't referencing the guys in that picture, but rather someone who hypothetically carried a rifle into a restaurant, without specifying how this person carried.

These guys are IDIOTS that show the entire firearms owning public in a poor light.
Just because the state of Texas allows open carry doesn't make it the reasonable course of action in most instances.

An example of a similar circumstance is the sign that you see in some eating establishments that says "No Shirt, No Shoes, No service".
We wonder around legally all day long barefoot and men can wonder around without a shirt on.
It is just in poor taste to go into lost of business that way.

If you are going to carry in public you should be discreet and respectful of the image you are portraying to others.
Concealed carry of a pistol is far and away the most friendly way to protect the safety of yourself and keep others from wondering if you are some kind of nut case (like anybody in their right mind would think about those two idiots).

Not to put too fine of a point on it, but that's the problem they've given both Starbucks and Chipotle. If OC supporters (and I'm including myself in that group) have that reaction, imagine how the population at large feels. I'd be shocked if that stunt didn't cost that restaurant some business that night; I don't think I'd've gone in if I'd seen those gomers, particularly given the way they're carrying.

The problem the OC community at large has is finding ways to increase exposure without overwhelming and scaring the general populace.
