Meh... it's too highly variable to predict, really. I've seen people passing out/puking down their lungs kinda drunk and have a BAC of less than 100, and people walking around talking with mildly slurred speech and slight ataxic gait at 500+. Certainly regular consumption affects it, but everyone reacts to it a little differently. And even the same person will be affected differently at the same BAD based on other factors of the day, somehow. I can't really explain it, but it just isn't predictable, unfortunately.

Huh. Go figure. GC has a story about some guy he pulled over who got around good enough but didn't pass the field sobriety test. Guy told him he couldn't arrest him because he had to be in surgery that morning. He went to jail. GC says he figures that's the least he could do for the guy's patients ...

Has another one about some kid who was on his way to school somewhere (not in OKC ... he was completely in the wrong city looking for his college) driving the wrong way on Lincoln who was so drunk he didn't even know where he was ... His parents said they had no idea how he got to where he was ...

I've never understood the urge to get in a vehicle and drive when you've been drinking. I don't do it. Never have -- not even when I was a kid ... same with pot ... or the pills I take now. Even if I feel "okay", if I've been taking meds I don't drive. I dunno ... there are so many things in this world I just don't get ...

Oh ... thanks for the answer! :P

Being a lightweight drinker I have a question. To have a alcohol level of three times the legal limit would a person have to have a history of heavy drinking or can a person who drinks occasionally reach that level without passing out?

Like tRdoc said, alcohol affects everyone differently. But 240 is 'nuthin on a lot people.

I mean, it's way too drunk to be driving, but many many people can go much higher than that and be far from passing out - or even slurring enough to draw attention.

Serious question, I remember being told it's illegal to have my firearm when I'm out/about whilst hammered, what exactly is the charge for that?

Hmmmm ... I do not know ... but, just for the record, when we go out and I want to have a drink, I leave my CCW at home ... If somebody breaks into my house and I'm drinking, well, don't break in my house ... but I'm not gonna be some attorney's wet dream because I wanted to have a glass of wine with my steak ... so my gun stays at home ...

Who knew being married to a tee-totaller would turn out to be so handy? :P
