1911s were never designed for 9mm so I would advise you get a Browning Hi-Power. Same John Browning engineering and as small as a commander. The grip is thicker (double stack) and the slide is narrower and about the same length as a commander. I love my Hi-Power

I don't want no steenkin' Hi-Power. (Money is the object; I'm old and retired). And yes, I went ahead and got a new Colt Lightweight Commander in .45ACP, the 2016 model 04840XE with the dual recoil spring set-up...and man, is it ever a nice gun. Colt now makes a 9mm version, the 04842XE now too. That's my next pistola!

I bet I paid less for my Hi-power than you paid for your SR1911. And I got a nice leather holster, 150 boolits, night sights and 5 mags...$625 for all, and the gun had never been fired. Watch for the deals mang
