We have been with ATT for over 20 years started way back when mobile phones were something you had to install. We have 3 lines with one smart phone and two flip phones. The smart phone is only used when my internet goes down which is a story in itself and for another time. I let an ATT store clerk talk me into a Galaxy S7 Active which is simply too big to carry around.

I looked at upgrading the flip phones to smart phones through ATT and got a run around like you wouldn't believe, again a story in itself for another time.

I started looking on eBay and came up with a couple possibilities whiten my price range. Galaxy S7 or the much cheaper Galaxy J3. What I am wondering is how difficult will it be with ATT to activate two eBay phones replacing the two flip phones we are now using. Plus other than a better camera which I really do not care about any reason not to go with the cheaper J3?

I dont think it'll be an issue at all. I switched from Verizon to ATT in October and they activated my Verizon phone on ATT for free (and got a warranty on it). Sure beat having to buy a new phone when I switched.

I have ATT and have always been happy. Two smart phones and we have upgraded at times over the years. The best service is with actual ATT stores, not the "authorized retailers"

Same here. And, agree with the AT&T "STORE." We've got one just a few miles from home, and they have always taken really good care of us. (knock on wood)

Yep the "authorized retailer" in Catoosa is the one that gave me the run around yesterday. He was happy no one was in the store when I blew up and left. I'll see if I can find a real ATT store in Tulsa.

Any insight to the difference between the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy J3, S7's are about $300.00 on eBay and the J3's are around $100.00.

Can't help you there. I'm like you ... I don't need all the latest, greatest, and bestest! I need a reliable, functional phone. We're still carrying S4's! I'm sure we'll have to 'upgrade' sometime soon.

Ya I hate being forced to upgrade anything and with everything digital that seems to be the norm. I'm still running Windows XP on this computer but it's getting harder to keep it with other company's wanting me to upgrade software.

Looks like the closest ATT owned store is down on 71st at Memorial, as much as I dislike driving down 71st guess I will make an exception.

I’ve been with AT&T for years and their 71st & Memorial store is my go-to place. Might have to wait a bit to talk to a rep there, but everyone I’ve spoken to has been very knowledgeable and helpful. Sometimes it’s just refreshing to speak to a human face-to-face. And especially one for whom English is not a second (or third) language. (I’m referring to “Bob” in Calcutta.)

Decided to just go ahead with the S7, must be a reason for the price difference and will want to keep them for a while. Should be here on Monday.

I would ditch ATT as quick as you could. I have had them for almost 10 years and hate them. They have the absolute worst customer service on the planet. And they don’t give a crap about the customer. As long as they have your money that’s all that matters. They don’t care about upgrading their tower or anything. I am switching to Verizon as soon as I can. I have a mobile hotspot with them and it always works great and their customer service blows att away. And there reps are in America unlike ATT.
