I thought that any stock added to a "pistol" had to have a stamp? Someone that knows more than me will hopefully respond.

That is why I was asking if it was originally sold as a pistol.

Ok, a quick update.

I bought a Ruger 22/45 from a member here, but unfortunately, I didn't care for it. Graciously, he said he would buy it back.

I think the Ruger SR22 might be a better choice. Anybody have one they would like to give the pros and cons about it?

I have a Ruger SR22 and a Walther P22 and like them both. My kids shoot them both really well which was the selling point for me. On the SR22 I would recommend upgrading the guide rod and spring. Mine only wanted to eat quality ammo for the first 500 or so rounds, if I tried running bulk ammo it wouldn't cycle reliably. Now that it is all broke in it will eat just about anything and cycle perfectly. I don't think you could go wrong with either the Ruger or Walther.

Years and years ago the Thompson Center Contender (single shot) was NFA if you had the stock for it.

What didn't you like about the Ruger, maybe we can offer other suggestions..

The grip mostly. After carrying a Glock for the past 27 years, nothing else feels quite right. Plus, the angle was different.
