Well, still on the lookout.
Wouldn’t have figured it would be so hard!

Do you want something that may have a fixer upper house on it or would you just demo something that was a fixer if the land was the right piece of dirt? Would you camp on it or put up a small cabin if vacant land? Would you want some land to hunt on even if a small tract? What else would you want to do with said land other than shoot?

Ideally I’d just like a spot to shoot. 1-5 acres with a natural barrier like a hill or creek would be best. Ungraded, undesirable land is perfectly okay with me. Hunting/camping would be nice, but I am really more budget conscious for now. I am still paying on a mortgage so I don’t want to go too crazy until it’s paid off.

Here are some options for you. Not knowing you and only going off the limited info you gave I thought these might give you some options. Not knowing your financial situation I tried to get you looks at properties that would work for shooting based off the limited pictures. Of these, my favorite is the 40 acres because you may be able to lease the land out during parts of the year to hunters for turkey and deer season and have the lease costs go towards your taxes or ammo or pocket money. Hope these help in some way. Good Luck.

30 Acres with good contour and elevation change for shooting. No or few neighbors around.

Looking at buying/leasing some land to shoot on.
Preferably within 2 hours of okc.

Anyone have suggestions on where to look? Most of the land I see posted online is for potential building and they want a pretty penny. I wouldn’t need more than an acre or two, just something to go plinking on the weekends with my better half.
There is 5 acres about 6 minutes from me. I believe they want $30,000 for it. And then there is also 6 acres for $40,000. I would buy one of them if I had the money. It’s in Earlsboro/Seminole area.

If 50 guys pitched in a bit, you could buy and hold land, shoot and camp on it. More than enough for everyone to enjoy it. Develop it with a vote, sell with a vote. Divide profits. You can get land in a flood plain, or with some other annoying thing.

If the land is in a flood plain, you have to get permission from the feds to build anything on it. Berms would not be allowed as it could change the natural flow of the water during a flood and cause erosion where there would not have been prior to building the berms.
The reason I'm familiar with that is that our range in Ponca has half the property in the flood plain. We wanted a 400 yard bay which would have required building out into the flood plain and the feds wouldn't give permission, so we stayed with the 300 yard plan. The back of the parking area behind the shade cover and benches is where the flood plain starts, so we are at max.

My grandpa's property was in the flood plain for panther creek and no bank would loan money on it, so the realtor bought it, and put rent houses on it and is making bank.

Hope they have flood insurance. The Gov pays one time to replace a home at a reasonable price. The next time it floods, it goes way up, and if it happens again, the insurance is more than what it costs to replace the house.
This started years ago when the Mississippi river was breaching all those levees and flooding farmlands and homes multiple times.
Feds decided the way to quit wasting our tax dollars rebuilding these homes/farms was to raise the insurance policies sequentially after every event.
One of the few things the feds did that I agree with.
