So, let me get this right. The best way to answer a protest about police violence is to come in to a crowd of people that are not (at least on this video) being violent and be violent to them? Makes a lot of sense to me.
Gee, I wonder why there are protests against police violence going on.

You mean those peaceful protesters who have been throwing rocks, frozen water bottles, firing large fireworks at the cops, etc, etc? Those peaceful protesters?
It is real easy to catch video when your side is doing nothing wrong. The left have gotten to be masters at editing video to only show the parts they want. For all we know this cop may have waited for a lull in the violence before attacking.
Looks to me as if he's engaging some people from behind as they were engaging an officer in the background, with people on the right shining lasers at them.
You are right.... being passive has worked extremely well so far. All these peaceful protesters "dindonuffin" I'm sure.....
I’m pretty sure he was talking about the ones in the video. Just watch the video. Those are the protesters he’s talking about. You mean those peaceful protesters who have been throwing rocks, frozen water bottles, firing large fireworks at the cops, etc, etc? Those peaceful protesters?
