OK, I've put it off long enough, and I have a LOT of treework to do now. I am torn between getting the Dewalt 20v max stuff for compatibility with my tools, and being slightly safer for my teenage son to learn on. I need a pole saw as well, and had planned on getting the blower for my wife to use around the pool and stuff. But, I have a lot of 2-stroke stuff to, stihl and echo edgers, weedeaters and blowers. I have heard good things about echo saws, and stihl is stihl, but I know husqvarna was good too. Are they still? I know I prob wont find in store, but I can order it, and have it here first of next week, cuz I dont see it drying up enough in the next few days for me to do the work anyways. TIA

Bought a Stihl MS 251 and other than wishing I had bought a 271 couldn’t be happier. We heat with wood so I cut a lot of wood. Occasional use a smaller, lighter one would work fine. You need to follow the starting procedures in the manual and it’ll kick off fine.

I did just order a Echo pole saw online for delivery on Monday. Have had the same Echo weed eater for 15 years!

As soon as echo was available at Lowe’s, the quality went south. Stihl is easier to work on and get parts for. Husqvarna sold out to someone else. Maybe MTD which would include a bunch of budget brands.

I bought my Echo at Lowe’s 15 years ago. It’s been great. What I won’t buy at Lowe’s is lawnmowers. Guarantee the manufacturers create a specialized line for big box stores.

To be honest, I purchased the Ryobi (yea I know its cheap and not the Stihl...Im poor :) ) pole saw attachment that fits my weed eater motor and have not fired my conventional chainsaw since. It came with a 10" bar, I picked up a 14" bar and I can mow through trees like they are butter!
