There are still a lot of Bill Clinton era Democrats in Congress (not to mention soon to be in the White House)

They remember what happened when Slick Willy rammed through the AWB. I don't think they will be hot to do it before the mid-terms, especially with such a tenuous hold on Congress already.

They are going to work on key items that solidify their position and build their base, not jeopardize it.

“Gun control” has been a losing political argument and the “Democrat Plantation” will be very focused on the midterms. That said, the Democrat base has shifted hard left and they have issues remembering history.

B HO who came in as the most anti-gun president talked of the reinstating the (failed) Clinton AWG all the way up to the day he was inaugurated and that day, they pulled it off his website. He didn’t do much. Not sure if their base will allow a rerun of B HO.
