Donald Trump, our 45th American president, held office from 2016-2020. We all know this. He's gearing up to run again in 2024. Outstanding. And all presidents can hold office for two terms, right?

So here's my question...

If'n Donnie J. wins in 2024, can he run for office again in 2028?

Technically if you are impeached and acquitted of all charges you can get a do over of your first term and the first one does not count against your two term limit.
In reality, I don't think he will be young enough to do two additional terms starting in 2024. That is if you still believe in legitimate elections.

He can only have two full terms. Period. There is no do over if impeached. Now if he somehow ended up completing Biden's term he could have more.

You are right as it reads in the 25 currently. A Constitutional scholar named Mattox was the one that brought this up. He argued that if a Presidents term is has been sufficiently impeded then he should be allowed a new first term. He was basing all this on there currently is no impediment to frivilous impeachments.

No one has ever tried to challenge it so far. The only one that could have done so so far was Bill Clinton. He was impeached while in office on his second term and resigned and later the charges were dropped. But he never tried. The reason it reads as it does right now was because of past Presidents and has been changed multiple times. Don't think it can't be changed again. These goons make it up as they go along as they see fit.
