Most of those really like 405’s. And roll your own, loading .45-70 on a single station lee or similar is easy

I will see how the federal fusion 300gr shoots out of it, if I dont like it or the rifle does not like em, I will try the 405s. Buddy of mine said he uses cowboy loads with a 405, travel around 1200fps.

Anyway mine tends to like the big heavy cast (500 gr) better for longer distances, but that comes with a price. I typically crank the 340 gr for plinking. Much more enjoyable after 20 or more rounds.

This is more for some of the heavy brushy areas I hunt from time to time. I think that federal load will work well
