Could always use an excuse of needing to get another gun, a shooter version of the same thing.I hear ya!! But it just begs to be shot!!
That’s true! And I have considered that!Could always use an excuse of needing to get another gun, a shooter version of the same thing.
It would go along with your unshot, collectable one. Thus, two guns of the same vintage. Or is it heritage?
Wow!! That would be a tough one!!That is a very nice gun...good for you!
Back in the early 90s I bought a Colt 1911 from 1943, in the Kraft box, one of the mags was still wrapped. It was definitely unissued...can't say it was unfired. But it sure didn't look like it. I kept that thing in the safe for almost 20 years, only taking it out occasionally to fondle it and whisper sweet nothings to it.
One day, decided it wasn't doing me any good sitting in the safe. I had a box of WWII vintage Winchester ammo so I took that and the gun out to my range and fired 14 rounds thru it. Carefully took it apart and cleaned it. Then I sold it.
It was a bittersweet moment when the guy told me he'd take it because I'd priced it so high I never thought anyone would buy it. I was actually disappointed. Until he counted out $3400 into my hand.
On the other hand, that $3400 is long gone. I bet that Colt is still around, though.
If I would of ever gotten my grubby paws on it I'd of dang sure cocked it.looks like it's been cocked a few times from the looks of the cylinder.
