Anybody get anything cool that is gun-related today?

Mine does as well, and I wont pass by an option with no thumb safety but if I can choose one or the other, I normally get it. I definitely wasnt critiquing anyone else's choice because I know my opinion is purely based on my own preference and logic.

You know, I actually thought the same thing because I do have a couple 1911’s with thumb safety.
But then thought more about it and came to the conclusion that I have three more M&P’s with no safety that are my competition and truck pistols, so went with the no thumb safety so the controls would be instinctive.
Oh yeah, big brown truck just left some freedom pills.

Which is precisely why they chose to offer both. I really enjoy shooting my G29 with hot loads, so I think those M&P would be a real shooter for a carry weapon when my back is bitching about 3lbs of gun on my belt, haha.

I wanted one of these when they first came out, then Springfield discontinued them after 2 years of production. Prices went up and I kind of gave up on getting one. Then @dennishoddy started talking about 10mm pistols and reignited my desire for one. Thanks, Dennis! You’ll have to let me know what you think of the Underwood ammo.

Finally found a good used one and picked it up today.

Springfield TRP Operator 6” heavy barrel.

Some of the videos I watched compared some typical factory ammo with an Underwood round in the stack.
You could see the smile on their faces when the ammo went off. Oh hell ya was the common response.

When I first took my then girlfriend/now wife to the range to try out a few different firearms, I took some basic Freedom Munitions 10mm and a box of Underwood. She ended up not enjoying shooting the 1911s at all due to the strap checkering being too coarse, but really loved my G29. In an effort to steer her back to a 9mm or .45 ACP 1911, I told her to shoot a couple of rounds of the defensive ammo in it too to make sure she wouldnt be afraid to carry it.

First, the deviation from her range ammo group was surprisingly minimal and the grin on her face when she saw the flames shoot out the muzzle and felt the thump was awesome. She has a G29 loaded up with Underwood HPs now, haha. Id still like to find the right combo of a 1911 for her, but I was thoroughly impressed she legitimately liked the 10mm with full house rounds.

I decided to go buy myself Fathers Day stuf yesterday. Went to my LGS and a Rossi stainless Rifle Mod 92 in .357 Mag, a Ruger stainless GP 100 .357 Mag and a Wrangler Birds Head .22LR. Followed me home. I gotta say the Rossi is a beautiful Rifle. superbly made.
