There's a time and a place for them, for sure. My younger kids disliked shooting, even 22s, until I picked up a couple suppressors; now they ask to go all the time. Whether it's perceived or legit I don't care, it gets them shooting.

I have multiple purpose-driven suppressors that are amazing at what they were designed for, but not much else. Again, time and place. I have multiple and would imagine I'll pick up more.

A quick story, I took my oldest out to Fouled Bore and there was a gentleman shooting a brand new 338 with a Sig QD brake that shook the whole damn platform. It was extremely uncomfortable shooting next to him, but it is so infrequent that I can get down there I tried to ignore it the best I could. I hadn't realized the muzzle device he had at first but eventually realized what it was, and I had a Sig suppressor with me that I could mount to his brake. I asked him if he wanted to try it out and it was incredible the difference it made. We were able to shoot next to him for the next couple hours without any discomfort. I was very grateful I had brought that can with us that day.

That’s my brother’s argument for them, but I’ve never heard my rifle when shooting at a deer. :anyone:

I just mean if you wanna pop a few animals off without scaring the others. I can see it being ideal for prairie dogs. Or rabbits. Heck even deer if you got the tags.

Other than that I don’t hear my rifle either when i shoot a deer. Adrenaline is wild.
