The rules are simple.

There are 5 scenarios. I'll post 1 scenario each day in it's own thread. Some time between 24-48 hours later I will post the answer as provided by the article.

Read the scenario and then explain how it would be possible for this to happen.

Here is the last one.

I read an article years ago that said there was a Japanese pistol nicknamed the “surrender pistol”. I don’t know if it was the Nambu or not, but It said it could be discharged by pressing on a certain spot on the slide.

The story goes that the Japanese soldier would be surrending his pistol, holding it by the slide and when the American would reach for it they would squeeze the slide wounding or killing the American and possibly creating enough surprise to escape or counter attack.

I NEVER EVER hand a loaded gun to anyone, even to my best friends who are all very adept at firearms, if it's an auto, I remove the mag and lock the bolt open before passing, if a revolver, I open the cylinder or loading port and dump the bullets out and ALL rifles & shotguns are handed over after unloading, and with bolts, falling blocks, slides and break-opens OPEN.

That's a given. Even the Scenario admits it was careless.
The goal here though, is to explain how it went off based on the events presented.
