How can one shoot 218 Bee and not reload? Is that cartridge even available factory?
I suppose new can be formed from 30-30, but it seems like a whole lotta work for each shot.

I bought $800 worth of Sierra bullet at the factory yesterday. Some were on sale. If you bought 8 pounds of those, you got 2 pounds free.
Maybe he or she was at their limit on how many times they fire their brass and decided to leave it for the goblins?
I'm sure the headstamp says .218 Bee, but that ain't standard .218 Bee! (sorry for the lousy pic)

That's my guess. When Dennis posted that I thought, sure, I can use those. I hadn't looked at the pic closely ... I was thinking plain old .218 Bee. Then, I paid attention. They may well be worn out (incipient case head separation), or started developing cracks. I'm sure that Dennis will now give them a much closer examination, and fill us all in on the details!
ETA: Yes, they do appear to have a much longer neck. And, I'm wondering if they are even still .22 caliber. I hope Dennis investigates much further! I'd like to have some of them in my hands to examine closely!

It’s much smaller than 30-30. There is a cartridge that can be resized to the .218 Bee. It slips my mind currently which it is though.
