FYI, I'm pretty sure the model 60 never had a recessed cylinder.
No, the only models with recessed cylinders were magnums and rimfires.

The forcing cone is fine and all the other check points are good. I do like the looks of the Pachs, but yeah, sweat got under them and the pistol wasn't maintained very well.Mod 60;
Pros;
Stainless
Factory wood grips
It is already yours and you know it
Cons;
Silly pin in barrel
Might have narrow sights
Stainless will still rust, just not as fast as their blued cousins
No box?
Mod 19;
Pros;
K frame 6 chooter
357 magnum
Adjustable sights
No gay ass pinned and recessed
Cons;
Gay ass pachmayr grips
Blued steel will rust like crazy if carried daily without constant care, as evidenced around gay ass pachmayr grips
2.5" bbl not as nice as 3"
Forcing cone cracking problem of K frame 357s
No box?
How is the forcing cone?
How about top strap flame cutting?
That said, I would take both.
Would I give up one for the other, uhhhhh???
Smart move.I passed on the trade.
This is an older thread but something caught my old nosey eye....You mentioned a Model 60 no dash and listed a serial number that is from around early 1978. 1978 would be a model 60-1. Am I crazy? Probably so. :-)I have an offer to trade my excellent condition S&W Model 60 38 spl no dash sn- R214xxx for a S&W Model 19-5 2.5" .357 magnum. What would y'all do??
