The only hogs I have seen in a couple months!
Also, I was using a 123gr Nosler Varmageddon handload left over from deer season.

Great that you use different calibers for different hunts. If you had to pick just one to consistently hunt hogs in OK, what would it be? Your AR10, 6.5 Grendel, 7.62x39? Just curious. There always seems to be cheaper and easier .308 ammo to find these days. But those guns tend to be much heavier. What is your opinion?? Thanks!

Nice video and shooting. I heard several "thumps". I hunt with a couple guys that use Wolf and Tula 7.62x39 HP. They are pretty disappointing on pigs, it takes several shots to anchor pigs if not CNS hits. They love how cheap the rounds are but don't realize it takes 4x the shots.
My results have been the same with the Tula HPs so I bought some Sellier & Bellot 124gr soft points. So far two shots and two DRTs. About $.75 per so it's cheaper than 308 hunting rounds. My shooting is pretty short range stuff so we'll see after I get a longer range shot if there is a performance dropoff.

Anyone using a 243 for hogs? If so what bullets are you using? I've been using 85 gr partitions because I bought some really cheap at a auction and rifle shoots them really well but I'm about out. Went to order some more and nosler must have started plating them w gold. This slow twist barrel won't shoot anything heavier . shoots 80 gr berger flat base the best but just my luck their discontinued.

Tough choice! I really like the x39 round, but if I HAD to choose only one, it would probably be the 308. I have 5 different 308 rifles and I really like that round as well. It seems to work the best for hogs also, they don't seem to run as far, if at all, when hit with 308. The x39 I've still had to track several down after being hit.
