Well I got about 10 miles from the house this morning and realized I left my phone right next to where I got rid of a pain before leaving the house I thought the heck with it I hunted for years without one lol about 7:30 I seen what looked like my spike slipping into the creek with no shot brush was thick just guessing it was him 30 minutes later he came down the creek bank going at a 45 degree angle towards another creek crossing I threw my scope up as he turned his head and seen had 4 points on his right side I had seen a buck with 4 on one side and a spike on the other so I figured it was him he came to a small opening and I shot and he dropped in his tracks when I got to him I realized he was my personal best for BP
Congrats on the fine buck kwaynem! See, there are some deer in there that aren’t spikes. 😂

Last week, one of my best friends said his son was anxious for rifle season this year, hoping to get his first deer. I actually gifted him his first rifle last year, a Ruger American 308, thanks to @BobbyV .

I said, “Why wait for rifle season? It’s muzzleloader season now.” As it turned out, he was headed to the national FFA convention in Indianapolis and wouldn’t be home until Saturday night. Still, I got my muzzleloader ready and sent it home with him. Told him all he has to do is cap it, cock the hammer, and shoot straight. Eli was able to go out on Sunday afternoon, sat for 2 hrs and this guy came out at 120 yds. One shot and the buck went down in 40 yds. Not bad at all for his first deer, hunting for only 2 hrs with a borrowed muzzleloader.
